Workshop: Introduction

The workshop is aimed at all artists / printmakers with experience in traditional techniques who seek a simple and versatile way to enter the reproduction of a photographic image (or graphics) within their work.

The Xerox Transfer technique allows for the creation of images with strong dramatic impact through the use of easily available and inexpensive materials such as photocopies or laser prints. The versatility of the technique used to print on many media such as paper (any kind of paper/cardboards), prepared canvas, any fabric, plastic, sheet metal, leather or any material that can pass without damage through the printing press.

In the introduction workshop we will mainly focus on the production of black and white images but not exclude the use of multiple colors.

The aim of the workshop is to show how to create good quality digital images for “perfect” paper plates and to teach the Xerox Transfer printing technique.

Workshop: Einführung

Der Workshop ist an alle Künstler mit Erfahrung in traditionellen Techniken gerichtet, die sich mit der Reproduktion eines Fotos bzw. einer Graphik und deren Aufarbeitung auseinandersetzen möchten.

Die Xerox-Transfer-Technik ermöglicht - unter Anwendung von leicht verfügbaren und preiswerten Materialien wie z.B. Fotokopien und Laserausdrucken - eine Bildererzeugung mit außergewöhnlicher Ausdruckskraft.

Die Vielseitigkeit der angewandten Technik zeigt sich durch die zahlreichen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten. Geeignet sind Medien wie Papier, Leinwand aber auch Kunststoff, Blech, Leder oder jedes Material, das durch die Druckmaschine gehen kann, ohne diese zu beschädigen.

Im Einführungs-Workshop werden wir uns hauptsächlich auf die Herstellung von Schwarz-Weiß-Bildern konzentrieren. Farbbilder werden jedoch nicht ausgeschlossen.

Ziel des Workshops ist die Herstellung von digitalen Bildern in guter Qualität für eine "perfekte" Papp-Platte und die Vermittlung der Xerox-Transfer-Technik.
