DIE VIELEN, together with a broad coalition of numerous civil society and artistic initiatives and cultural scene activists, are calling for a "STERNDEMO" on 12 September 2026 at 2:00 pm at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, marching with a GLITTERING DEMONSTRATION through Berlin-Mitte to the Rotes Rathaus.

The KiöR Walk on art in architecture and art in urban space focuses on Berlin's historic city centre, using selected works to illustrate the possibilities of contemporary art in public space and the challenges of its public stewardship. The KiöR Walk is taking place as part of the #DeineStimmeFürKultur action week.

Over 120 funded studios at 23 locations are opening their doors, making visible what Berlin would lose if the city's politicians and administration continue to handle this globally unique infrastructure for freelance artists – built up over decades – so negligently.

On 5 and 6 September, 23 funded studio locations across various Berlin districts are opening their doors. Among them: the Studios from the Workspace Program at Ringstraße 66 in Berlin-Tempelhof, welcoming visitors for an open day on 5 September from 2 to 10 pm!

On Saturday, 5 September 2026 from 2 to 8 pm, around 30 of the 43 studios on Lankwitzer Straße/Porschestraße will open their doors. Come by and get to know the artists and their work! An extensive programme of events is currently being planned.

The VGSD (Association of Founders and Self-Employed in Germany) is calling for the "Aktivrente" to be extended to self-employed workers. A demand that bbk berlin also shares on behalf of artists. Register with Abstimmung21 by August 9 to receive your voting materials.

The spokespersons of bbk berlin will present the results of our survey on the living and working conditions of visual artists in Berlin. Afterwards, we will offer all attendees the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas. The event will be broadcast live on our Instagram channel.

Ahead of the 2026 Berlin House of Representatives elections, the action alliance #BerlinIstKultur is launching the campaign #DeineStimmeFürKultur on 13 April 2026.

The bbk berlin will be striking on March 9 for the Global Women's General Strike in front of the Brandenburg Gate, supporting a growing platform with over 1,000 women and several dozen men, more than 40 regional groups spread across the globe, and just as many organizations, each saying ENOUGH! in their own way.

Legal consultation with attorney Achim Bedenk will not take place on March 6. Furthermore, the free telephone consultation on March 13 will exceptionally take place from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The fixed appointments on March 13 will remain unchanged from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The following appointments will then take place again at the regular times.

The survey “Living and working as a visual artist in Berlin” is open until January 31. It covers key aspects such as gender (in)equality, income and working conditions, and retirement provisions, as well as individual questions on (content warning:) abuse of power, sexual harassment, and censorship. Take part now!

The new issue No. 72 of the trade journal Kunststadt/Stadtkunst, published by kulturwerk des bbk berlin and the Büro für Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, will be released on December 9 at 7 p.m.

The new bbk berlin working group on inclusion invites you to its next meeting. Kate Brehme (berlinklusion – Network for Accessibility in Art and Culture) will give a keynote speech. Interested members of bbk berlin are cordially invited to participate in the working group and actively contribute.
