Editions and multiples are a way of infiltrating the commercial market. But how? In principle, the opportunity to reproduce a work several times enables you to offer work for a lesser price without betraying your artistic practice.
How do I choose the motif, size, and number of copies? What is special about producing a three-dimensional multiple?
The motivation to produce this kind of artwork is often of a financial nature. Looking for a more accessible market segment implies that I have to think about commercial strategies. It is not because my work is „small and cheap“ that it will automatically sell.
Following a general introduction, we will discuss your specific questions.
