Ece Pazarbaşı works and walks on the merged borderline of curatorial practice and artistic research as her main profession. With 15 years of experience in the curatorial and art management field, she has realised many projects and received financial support from many funding institutions. In 2015, she has established Berlin Art Grant Clinic, where she helped many artists, curators and NGOs to attain their financial goals for their works, projects and organisations. She has taught grant writing in many organisations and art spaces including Helsinki Fine Arts Academy, Kunsthochschule Mainz, Transart Institute (Berlin, NY), Branchentreff 2015 – PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMM DES LAFT to teach grant writing. In 2009 and 2010 she worked at the Strategic Planning and Development Department for Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, United Arab Emirates as Consultant and Program Specialist of Visual Arts for Turkey where she worked on strategic collaboration planning. Currently, Pazarbasi actively takes place in the international boards and juries of various organisations.
In 2013 she had the privilege to take part in Olafur Eliasson’s Institution for Spatial Experiments with a special research grant. She has co-curated Everything Under the Sun alternative education programme (2015) and was the curator of ‘Walk Over the City’ soundwalk series in Istanbul (2013); Istanbul Coordinator for New Museum – New York’s Ideas City (2012): Istanbul; curator of “Silent Shape of Things-Sophia Pompery” at ARTER Istanbul (2012). In 2011-2012, Pazarbasi has co-curated “12/12” and “Turkish Art Nice and Simple” exhibitions at Tanas Berlin together with René Block. Additionally, she was the assistant curator of the 52nd Venice Biennial Turkish Pavilion (2007). Currently she is working at the Museum der Dinge as the International Fellow Curator with a stipend from Kulturstiftung des Bundes. She continues her artistic and curatorial projects with CAMP.
